Psalm 25:1, “In you, Lord my God, I put my trust.”
This was the Bible verse that I saw first thing today. This simple verse, consisting of only nine words, was precisely what my heart needed. What I love, well, one of the many things I love about God, is how he uses the Bible to reach out to us. Even though I read Psalm 25 earlier this week, it wasn’t until today that this one verse told my heart everything it needed to know.
Did you know that the top five things Americans worry about are health, money, jobs, security, and relationships? Maybe you are like me and have worried about all these things at once. Those are rough seasons to be in, for sure! Just this past week, I have encountered anxiety over all these things. I won’t go into all the details about what is happening, but it is a lot!
So, before I fell asleep last night, I prayed to God, letting it all out. I let go of my “control” because I knew he was already working. I knew that he would provide and prepare because he always has.
I wish I could say that when I woke up today, all the feelings of anxiety were gone, but they weren’t. And that’s okay. One day, as Christians, we will have nothing to worry about. Until then, everything in life, absolutely everything, can build our faith.
The more we come to God, the more we can see him work! The more we see him work, the more we know we can put our faith in him!
The Bible tells us that:
The Lord is always near! (Philippians 4:4-7)
He gives us strength. (2 Corinthians 12:9-10)
He is an ever-present help in times of trouble (Psalm 34:17-20)
All Scripture tells us that we can trust in God—not because life is without difficulty, but because God is bigger than the problems and troubles in our lives!
